The Terry Fator show had to be the best show I have ever seen. So much better than I had ever expected. He is such an entertainer and so so talented I can't even tell you how good he was, you would have to experience it yourself. Fun, fun night!!

BIG BEAR

We went to Big Bear, CA with 2 other couples 2 weeks ago and had so much fun. Joe has known the guys since kindergarten and I have known all of them since Jr High and high school. We all got married right out of high school and everyone is still together, that is over 120 years of marriage between us!!! We stayed at Bob and Chere's sons cabin there, shopped, ate and played dominos and Pack and Stack. It was such a fun weekend being all together and we all get along so good. So many stories told about the "old days" when we were teenagers and so many laughs all weekend long. Ed Kelly,Joe,Georgia Kelly, Chere and Bob Whitaker.

CATCHING UP!!!

I haven't updated my blog in so long I wondered if I remembered how to do it. Well, I think I did it so here are a few updates. I download the pictures then can't seem to find the file they are in usually but it went pretty smoothly today. I need to get with it and do this more often!!

GRANDBABY # 6 !!!

This is mom's 6th great grandchild!!!

Trent and Heather added a 6th grandbaby to our family. She was born July 10th, weighed 6 lbs and was 17 1/2" long. Her name is Kenley Jade and she seems to tiny and petite. She is like a little doll!!

MASTERPIECE

A girl at work had a Tres Leche cake for her birthday and it was so good and pretty I decided to try to make one at home. This looks small but it was actually a 3 layer cake. It will turn out better next time I am sure but turned out pretty good for the first try.

4TH OF JULY

Trent had to work and Lori and Tim were in San Francisco and Amar's wife was out of town as well so us left had our own little BBQ and fireworks. Amar was the pyrotechnic so the rest of us just sat back and watched. It was a fun night for the little ones and a learning experience for Amar as I don't think they do fireworks in Mongolia and I don't think he had ever BBQ'd either.

CRUZIN' NIGHT OUT

We decided to take mom and her friend cruising in the convertible one night. We went to the Sonic and messed around and had a fun night out. Mom said later that if she died that night she would of left happy which tells me she liked her little joy ride.

FAMILY AT JOE'S SISTERS FUNERAL

Joe's sister Maxine passed away a couple months ago in CA and our family attended the funeral. This picture was taken then.

MOM'S 90TH BIRTHDAY!!!!.

My mom turned 90 on May 26th and we had a family party at Olive Garden. It was fun to help her celebrate 90 great years. She has alot of health issues but still keeps plugging along through it all. I am blessed to have had her around for so long.

EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION

On Saturday, Lori came over and her and I took the shuttle over to the house down the street that Extreme Makeover is redoing. There were tons of workers everywhere and it was neat to see this house that will be on the show in May. I believe the house belongs to a family that has two little girls that have auto immune problems and the house was unsafe as it had mold issues and structural problems because it had flooded several times. We had a fun day!!

GOING TO SPAIN

We are very excited as Darci's inlaws invited us to go to Spain with them. What a great way to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary!!

2nd time of "COOKIN WITH THE CHICKS"

I went to "Cookin With the Chicks" on March 3rd. It was my second time of going and is fun. Everyone brought a family recipe that had been passed down through the years. We each make that recipe so everyone can sample it. I demonstrated how to can meat (beef). It is so good and tasty and even my kids all love it which is saying a lot. If anyone is interested in going with me just let me know. It is every other month so we don't get burned out.

We made banana nut bread in Darci's breadmaker. It turned out OK I guess but Marlee sneezed while making it and she was way too close to the bowl so we started calling it "sneeze bread" and to be honest no one was too hungry for it by the time we were done!! It was too funny and we were cracking up. Kids and cooking!!

GRANDMAS TRIP TO AZ

West came to LV to attend a 4 day class with Joe so I went to Darci's while he was here. A baby bunny fell into their basement stairwell so Darci retreived it and now they have a new pet. They are going to let it go in a few days though. It was so tiny and cute.

BLUE MAN GROUP

Last night we saw the Blue Man Group at the Venetian as the kids got us tickets for my birthday. Wow, what a crazy, upbeat, energizing show. Thanks for the treat kids!! After the show we ate at the Grand Lux Cafe in the hotel.

Tomorrow is my birthday but since it is on a Monday Lori and Tim took us out to eat on Fri night to On the Border, a Mexican Restaurant down the street. I am really fond of that place and it was a nice dinner. A friend at work, Judy, made me a carrot cake so we then took dessert over to Trent and Heather's (Trent was working) and had birthday cake there where they all gave me tickets to go to Blue Man Group next Saturday at the Venetian. Joe and I had won dinner tickets at the Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian when we won the Halloween Trunk or Treat decorating contest so now we will eat out and then go to the show. Thanks kids for the fun night out!! It was a great birthday other than getting older!!

COOKIN' WITH THE CHICKS

A mom of one of Darci's friends, Paula, invited me to a "COOKIN' WITH THE CHICKS NIGHT". A bunch of ladies get together and share food and recipes. This way you get to taste a dish and if you like it they have the recipe already printed for you. They also post recipes and ideas on their blogs "cookinwiththe chicks.blogspot.com". Check it out It was a really fun night and I am looking forward to doing it again.
